stplanr:Sustainable Transport Planning
Tools for transport planning with an emphasis on spatial transport data and non-motorized modes. The package was originally developed to support the 'Propensity to Cycle Tool', a publicly available strategic cycle network planning tool (Lovelace et al. 2017) <doi:10.5198/jtlu.2016.862>, but has since been extended to support public transport routing and accessibility analysis (Moreno-Monroy et al. 2017) <doi:10.1016/j.jtrangeo.2017.08.012> and routing with locally hosted routing engines such as 'OSRM' (Lowans et al. 2023) <doi:10.1016/j.enconman.2023.117337>. The main functions are for creating and manipulating geographic "desire lines" from origin-destination (OD) data (building on the 'od' package); calculating routes on the transport network locally and via interfaces to routing services such as <https://cyclestreets.net/> (Desjardins et al. 2021) <doi:10.1007/s11116-021-10197-1>; and calculating route segment attributes such as bearing. The package implements the 'travel flow aggregration' method described in Morgan and Lovelace (2020) <doi:10.1177/2399808320942779> and the 'OD jittering' method described in Lovelace et al. (2022) <doi:10.32866/001c.33873>. Further information on the package's aim and scope can be found in the vignettes and in a paper in the R Journal (Lovelace and Ellison 2018) <doi:10.32614/RJ-2018-053>, and in a paper outlining the landscape of open source software for geographic methods in transport planning (Lovelace, 2021) <doi:10.1007/s10109-020-00342-2>.

gtfs2emis:Estimating Public Transport Emissions from General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS) Data
A bottom up model to estimate the emission levels of public transport systems based on General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS) data. The package requires two main inputs: i) Public transport data in the GTFS standard format; and ii) Some basic information on fleet characteristics such as fleet age, technology, fuel and Euro stage. As it stands, the package estimates several pollutants at high spatial and temporal resolutions. Pollution levels can be calculated for specific transport routes, trips, time of the day or for the transport system as a whole. The output with emission estimates can be extracted in different formats, supporting analysis on how emission levels vary across space, time and by fleet characteristics. A full description of the methods used in the 'gtfs2emis' model is presented in Vieira, J. P. B.; Pereira, R. H. M.; Andrade, P. R. (2022) <doi:10.31219/osf.io/8m2cy>.

The ReLTER package functions in particular allow to: - retrieve the information about entities (e.g. sites, datasets, and activities) shared by DEIMS-SDR (see e.g. get_site_info function); - interact with the [ODSEurope](maps.opendatascience.eu) starting with the dataset shared by [DEIMS-SDR](https://deims.org/) (see e.g. [get_site_ODS](https://docs.ropensci.org/ReLTER/reference/get_site_ODS.html) function); - use the eLTER site informations to download and crop geospatial data from other platforms (see e.g. get_site_ODS function); - improve the quality of the dataset (see e.g. get_id_worms). Functions currently implemented are derived from discussions of the needs among the eLTER users community. The half-weight index gregariousness (HWIG) is an association index used in social network analyses. It extends the half-weight association index (HWI), correcting for level of gregariousness in individuals. It is calculated using group by individual data according to methods described in Godde et al. (2013) <doi:10.1016/j.anbehav.2012.12.010>.

bangladesh:Provides Ready to Use Shapefiles for Geographical Map of Bangladesh
Usually, it is difficult to plot choropleth maps for Bangladesh in 'R'. The 'bangladesh' package provides ready-to-use shapefiles for different administrative regions of Bangladesh (e.g., Division, District, Upazila, and Union). This package helps users to draw thematic maps of administrative regions of Bangladesh easily as it comes with the 'sf' objects for the boundaries. It also provides functions allowing users to efficiently get specific area maps and center coordinates for regions. Users can also search for a specific area and calculate the centroids of those areas.

simfish:simulate fish tracks & acoustic detections
facilitates simulation of fish tracks in featureless and semi-realistic environments (coastal oceans, fjords, and lakes). A user-defined raster defining the water body - land boundaries is used to constrain simulated tracks. Fish movements are simulated (currently) as either a correlated random walk or a biased & correlated random walk, with the bias toward a defined Centre-of-Attraction. A potential function is used to ensure the tracks avoid land. The package can also be used to simulate detections of acoustically-tagged fish by acoustic receivers at user-defined locations.

insights:An R implementation of the InSiGHTS framework
The package provides an implementation of the InSiGHTS modelling framework for creating climate and land-use indicators. This package acts a simple wrapper to do an area-of-habitat refinements on top of climatic envelope models or species distribution models (SDMs). By default it is assumed that such models are obtained through the ibis.iSDM package and this package contains a simple wrapper to link the two approaches.

ScaleInMultilayerNetworks:Package Accompanying: The Problem And Promise Of Scale In Multilayer Animal Social Networks.
Scale remains a foundational concept in ecology. Spatial scale, for instance, has become a central consideration in the way we understand landscape ecology and animal space use. Meanwhile, scale-dependent social processes can range from fine-scale interactions to co-occurrence and overlapping home ranges. Furthermore, sociality can vary within and across seasons. Multilayer networks promise the explicit integration of the social, spatial and, temporal contexts. Given the complex interplay of sociality and animal space use in heterogeneous landscapes, there remains an important gap in our understanding of the influence of scale on animal social networks. Using an empirical case study, we discuss ways of considering social, spatial and, temporal scale in the context of multilayer caribou social networks. Effective integration of social and spatial processes, including biologically meaningful scales, within the context of animal social networks is an emerging area of research. We incorporate perspectives that link the social environment to spatial processes across scales in a multilayer context.

spacetools:Easy Spatial Tools for R
Provide a series of functions designed to make complicated spatial operations in R much easier. Applications are focused on aquatic distance related uses, with built in functionality for the Sacramento San Joaquin Delta. Users can calculate in-water distances between points, move points outside a shapefile to the closest location within the shapefile, and cluster points within a given radius. More functions will be added in the future.

Supplies tools for running agent-based models (ABM) in R, as discussed in Gochanour et al. (2022) <doi:10.1111/2041-210X.14014>. The package contains two movement functions, each of which is based on the Ornstein-Uhlenbeck (OU) model (Ornstein & Uhlenbeck, 1930) <doi:10.1103/PhysRev.36.823>. It also contains several visualization and data summarization functions to facilitate the presentation of simulation results.
